Northern New Mexico College Student Filmmakers, Nathan Maestas and Christopher Cata, interviewed the students of the ATLAS Program at Piñon Elementary School about their research on the effects of climate change on water. The students also learned technical terms for film equipment and some tips on framing and balancing audio. Stay tuned for a short film about the students' research produced by our filmmakers!

According to the Intergovernmental Panel Report on Climate Change, it is projected that 40% to 50% of the world’s population will experience water stress by the year 2100. Pinon Elementary School is looking into this due to student concerns about the future and thanks to the ATLAS - Always Think Like a Scientist - afterschool program being launched by Delara Sharma and with support by local community members and the Smithsonian Science Education Center.
